I went through the first few days of raya with mixed feelings.

A few situations that demand my attention, I tried

Pushing it to the back of my head.

I was sooo sleepy, sooo tired,

Cos it’s all last minute for me.

Managed to somehow overhaul my room,

Installed the metal shelf,

And cleaned, cleared, threw about half of the things in the room.

I continued on the morning of raya.

After that, bathed, wore my clothes,

Paint my face, and ta-daaaa.

Ok la. Looked presentable.

Ate ate ate, nenek’s kuah lodeh is heaven.

den ard 1 pm, mum’s side decided

To go to grandaunt’s place at woodlands.

So off we went.

Then 2 extended families met.

So kecoh.

I was having 2nd and 3rd helpings of nek busu’s

Delish daging rendang. My. Never tasted tt kinda rendang before.

Den my family parted ways, and we went to nenek’s house.

My sis was so excited and like every other yr, she'll go,

"oh pls let there be the kuah satay, and the ayam merah, and udang sambal"

heh. but those are my fav too.

That’s when I realized tt so many people wore green this yr.

And the kebaya Indon that I keep seeing at Geylang is really popular.

Thank gdness I got my family’s stuff at JB,

If not, I’d have to search high n low at Geylang for a baju

Thats not transluscent.

We came much later this yr,

But that’s a good thing because the rest came ard the same time.

Everyone looked so dead tired.

But I think everyone agreed that the photo taking session rocks!

After that mum wanted to go somewhere else,

But we told her that we are just too tired.

Pls sis dah tido buruk inside the van. Haha.

Second day, we had sooo many visitors.

Penat this part-time waitress, cum babysitter,

Cum discipline mistress (for those lil rascals).

Didn’t know the “ader momok dlm store” trick still worked.

Haha.

But really, was so tired.

The third raya, saya on leave. Hehe.

But early morning, my student called.

Said she’s coming with some others.

In the end, there’s 8 of them.

They ate so much, but poor thing,

They came when it was raining heavily.

Maybe that explains the hunger.

Thanks for coming kiddos. =)

And truckloads of visitors later,

It dawned on me that I would be working the next day.

Dang.

So that’s my first 3 days of raya for me.

The best part abt raya,

Is having visitors of course.

Esp since my nenek stays with us, so everyone comes over.

But this yr tho, is my first yr giving out the green packets.

I think a few others reading this pun same case rite?

But I think it’s fun giving out the packets,

And seeing the kids’ face light up.

Mcm best gitu.

And I gave my elders too, and I think some of them,

The ones close to me, was quite touched by the

Fact that I’ve grown up and am on the other side now.

Late last night, my students called ( a different grp).

Planning to come tmr.

Saya kerja sayangs.

Another time k, sorry…

Will be going to leza’s place tonight. Finally.

With Mr Ismail Nazri, whom I haven met for the longest

Time despite staying 4 blocks away from me. Haha.

Then will finally be going jln raya

on friday, sat, sun, monday. family n frens.
